Biography

Craig Watkinson was born and raised in New Jersey.  He attended the BFA program at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, then toured Europe with the Shoestring Players before moving to New York City.

There, he acted in plays, soaps (including a recurring role on One Life to Live) independent films, and commercials.  He later moved to Los Angeles, where he’s worked on over 30 films (including Judgment Night, Dangerous Company, and Learning to Surf) and over 20 television series (including Criminal Minds, Big Love, and Sin City Saints).

“The Cure” marked his debut feature as a writer/director/producer.  The film won International Best Dramatic Motion Picture at the “Twisted Sinema Film Festival” in Toronto, Canada, and Craig won their International Best Actor in a Dramatic Motion Picture award.  It also received a prize at the Memphis Digital Arts Film Festival and won Craig that year’s Best Actor prize at the LA MiniDV Festival.

After splitting his time between acting and teaching for nearly a decade, Craig returned to acting full-time in the summer of 2013.  Since coming back, he’s acted in over 30 projects, most notably leading roles in Juan Luis Bravo’s bonding story “Magic Act,” Justin Grizzoffi’s dark comedy “Speedwagon,” and Spencer Reed’s comedy series “The Interns.”

More recently, he completed his first novel, “Taught,” which has met with fantastic reviews and is now available for purchase.
